Civil Rights  [Click to read]

Objective

Women are aware of and demand their civil rights

The program seeks to empower communities with the rights which should already be granted by the state but may not be implemented at the local level. The civil rights component focus on Citizenship right, Inheritance rights, Political rights, Family rights and Rights to justice.

Our Strategy

KK believes that filling civil rights gaps would serve a greater purpose of building a society where everyone would enjoy their rights and perform their responsibilities peacefully with the following approach. i.e.

  • Advocacy and social mobilization

  • Service Delivery

  • Providing and Protecting Civil rights in emergency situation

KK strategy towards civil rights will impact on local mechanisms and forums are available and women are accessing their civil rights, more women leaders are emerging for contesting elections, more women are part of decision making bodies (at all levels), more women are availing their inheritance rights, family rights and right to justice and increased positive image of women in media.

Types of Beneficiaries

The types of beneficiaries include urban and rural women and girls. This includes urban and rural GBV survivors, disabled, minorities, and disaster affected girls and women.

Objective

To improve gender parity, quality of girls education and literacy for women

KhwendoKor Education Programme components are Primary Education, Elementary Education and Adult Literacy.

Our Strategy

The Strategies which KhwendoKor adopt to implement its education program components are:

  • Advocacy and social mobilization

  • Service Delivery

  • Providing and Protecting Civil rights in emergency situation

The impact of this program is that to reduce gender disparity, Increased acceptance for girls’ education at Community level, Increased resource allocation for girls’ education, Improved and increased infrastructure for education, Enhanced women literacy rate, Increased enrollment rate of girls and Reduced dropout rate at primary level for girls.

Types of Beneficiaries

The types of beneficiaries include girls, boys, and women from all socio-economic status and groups such as orphans, people with special needs and minorities.

Objective:

To improve the health status of women and children

KK assisting the targets groups i.e. Women, Children by provision of health facility in the following components:

  • Maternal and neo-natal health

  • Health & Nutrition Education

  • HIV & AIDS(SRHR for women and adolescent girls)

On a larger scale there is the need for women to be able to claim their health rights and KK adopt strategies:

  • Advocacy and social mobilization

  • Service Delivery

  • Providing and Protecting Civil rights in emergency situation

Impact

The expected impact of this program is, the reduction in morbidity, Enhanced awareness on basic health issues (MNH, SRHR, HIV AIDs) and Women health issues are addressed at community level.

Types of beneficiaries range in age and gender

  • Gender Age Social Category

  • Women including disabled 16-60+ and Marginalized

  • Children including disabled 1-10 years and Marginalized

  • Men 18-60 years and Marginalized

  • Transgender

Economic Empowerment  [Click to read]

Objective:

To improve and sustain the social and economic status of marginalized women

Program Components:

  • Micro-Finance services to empower women

  • Natural Resource Management

  • Handy Craft development and promotion

  • Relief Substitution

Strategy:

It is expected that the household income will increase and as a part of this the self-growth and confidence and mobility of women is increased and enhanced. The overall economic status of women should also increase in society and for this following strategies are developed:

  • Advocacy and social mobilization

  • Service Delivery

Impact:

The expected impact of empowering women economically is that to increased access to financial services of women, increased level of women income, increase in number of self employed women, increased number of women registered with women chamber of commerce, increased number of women registered with fair trade and increased access and control of women over economic resource.

types of beneficiaries:

This includes: Marginalized women entrepreneurs, home based workers, crafts women, farmers, woman headed households, widows, divorcees, unmarried women, second wives, disabled people, orphans, individuals deprived of land ownership with no other source of income, poor women or women in households with an irregular source of income, and all other women between the ages of 16-60 years old.
